Prayers

“[Jesus said] When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to Your Father, who is unseen. Then Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:6

A General Prayer

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Grant that Your will may be done in the hearts and lives of people everywhere. Grant me grace to always be aware of Your will for my life. Give me faithfulness in the work that You have given me to do and bless my labors, whatever they may be. Restrain the rulers of this earth who seek to place their will above Yours and thereby cause suffering and heartache among the people. Help guide them by the Holy Spirit to understand that peace will only reign if Your will, revealed in the Scriptures, is done. Convince all ministers of the Gospel that Your will is done when they preach and teach Your Word in truth. Keep me and all Christians mindful of Your commandments and of our duty to serve You. Above all, give us a burning love for souls and a sense of urgency in proclaiming the free salvation that You have made ours through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Morning Prayer

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.

Evening Prayer

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have graciously kept me this day; and I pray that You would forgive me all my sins where I have done wrong, and graciously keep me this night. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
